Livia Ardenghi trained in Paris and spent eleven years composing for other people’s labels. Vellanotte is the first time she has signed the formulas herself.
She writes every perfume on paper first, then weighs it by hand on the scale in the back room — trials of fifty grams, sometimes eighty of them before a formula is fixed. Corrado Bensi, who restored books in this shop for twenty years, now runs the bench and the counter. He pours, labels and numbers each batch, and he is the one who answers your emails.
We make seven perfumes and do not plan to make many more. When one is retired, its formula sheet goes up on the wall by the door.
